Wheel
The wheel spinner turns your class list into a spinning wheel, so choosing who answers next is visible, fair and a little bit of fun. Type names in or paste a whole list, spin, and the wheel slows to a stop on one of them. Everything stays in your browser — your class list is never uploaded anywhere, and you never need an account.
How to use the wheel
Add your class
Open the Items tab and add names one at a time, or use a Quick Preset to start with 8, 20 or 40 placeholder slots and rename them. To bring in a list you already have, use Settings → Import Items and paste it or load a .txt file.
Adjust the slices
Rename any slice by typing in its box, click the coloured circle to change its colour, and set a weight from 1 to 10 to make a name more or less likely to come up. Pick a colour theme in Settings if you want the wheel to match your board.
Spin
Press Spin Wheel, or just tap Space. The wheel winds up, accelerates, coasts and then crawls through the last few degrees so the class can see the result coming.
Show the result
The winning slice glows and a card appears under the wheel with the name. From there you can spin again straight away, or remove that name from the wheel so the next spin picks someone new.
Use it on the projector
Press F or the fullscreen button to fill the screen. The wheel scales to the display and the labels resize themselves so they stay readable from the back of the room.
Frequently asked questions
- Can I stop the same student being picked twice?
- Yes. After a spin, the winner card has a Remove from Wheel button, which takes that name out so it cannot come up again. If you would rather it happen automatically, turn on Auto-Remove After Selection in Settings.
- Can I make some names more likely than others?
- Yes. Each name has a weight between 1 and 10. A name with weight 3 is three times as likely to be picked as a name with weight 1. The weight is shown on the slice so the class can see it is deliberate.
- Is my class list stored anywhere?
- Only in your own browser. The list, the colours and the spin history are saved in local storage on your device so they are still there next lesson, and none of it is ever sent to a server.
- Does it work on a smartboard or projector?
- Yes. Fullscreen mode scales the wheel to the display, and the slice labels resize automatically so long names stay legible. Space spins, R resets and F toggles fullscreen, so you can drive it without hunting for a button.
